If you look around, almost everyone has a fluffy pillow that squashes down in the middle.
It feels cozy at first, right?
But what sleep specialists don’t always explain is how those soft pillows let your head tip backward.
That tiny tilt narrows your airway, so every breath vibrates the tissues in your throat.
It’s basically setting yourself up to snore all night.
Imagine someone lightly pressing your neck, over and over, for hours - not enough to wake you, but enough to make breathing noisy and rough.
No wonder we wake up with dry mouths and scratchy throats.
No wonder our partners look as tired as we feel.
It also forces your heart and lungs to work harder just to keep oxygen flowing.
The ripple effects are huge: higher blood pressure, more nighttime awakenings, restless tossing that you don’t even remember.
And of course, that guilty feeling when someone next to you says, “You kept me up again last night.”
All from a pillow that seemed soft and harmless.
That realization made me determined to try something different.
